Emotional Freedom Techniques


    This article is about how one person began to use his different learning strategy (often labeled "learning disability") to his advantage, unconsciously.  He had been working to clear his stress around learning so that he could use his natural intelligence in a way that was right for him. But unconsciously he was also hanging on to it [ADD/ADHD] because it protected him from failing. Eventually the inner conflict developed into sabotage, and when it began to get in his way, he sought help.

    Many times our deepest angers, fears and all manner of emotions that we can't even put a label to are really out of reach during our every day lives; they are hidden away so that we don't have to deal with them and so we don't even know we have these emotions. Then we watch a TV show or a movie and all of a sudden - there they are!

    I asked her what she felt might have brought on the migraine and she told me that she had been a “bad girl” and had a coffee earlier that morning and this migraine was clearly coming on “as a punishment” for having had that coffee! ... I have begun to wonder just how many of our problems are due to this type of self-punishment.

    The process is easy to memorize and is portable so you can do it anywhere. It launches off the EFT Discovery Statement which says... "The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system."

    And because our physical pains and diseases are so obviously connected with our emotions the following statement has also proven to be true... "Our unresolved negative emotions are major contributors to most physical pains and diseases."
